Boys' and Girls' Basketball February 18, 2017

Boys' Basketball January 14, 2017

Aquinas Academy Basketball program is offered from grades 3 through 8.   The program has been in existence for over 30 years and has always been very competitive.

3rd and 4th Grade Basketball Clinic

All 3rd and 4th grade students are welcome to join our instructional clinic. Practice is generally held one to two times a week. Clinics run from early November through the end of February, with scrimmage games generally played on the weekends in February.  The program is designed for children who are just learning the game of basketball.  The boys and girls will learn the fundamentals: dribbling, shooting and passing the basketball, as well how to play offensive and defensive positions.

Junior Varsity Boys/Girls:

The Junior Varsity team consists of 5th and 6th grade boys and girls. Practices are held approximately three times per week (both weeknights and weekends), and we play approximately fifteen to twenty games in the Suburban Catholic League.  At this level, the student-athletes are playing ”real” games and competing for League standings, playoffs, and championships. Our JV teams also compete in other interscholastic tournaments throughout the season.

Varsity Boys/Girls:

The Varsity team consists of 7th and 8th grade boys and girls. Practices are held approximately three times per week (both weeknights and weekends), and we play approximately fifteen to twenty games in the Suburban Catholic League. The competition at this level is very high – in preparation for competition at the high school level. As with the JV level, the Varsity level competes throughout the season for League standings, playoffs, and championships.  Our Varsity teams also compete in other interscholastic tournaments throughout the season.
